Screen mirroring worked but no sound

I bought this to use for a video call or to watch something from my iPad on my big screen TV but the first time I tried to use it, was for a video call today and the picture is good but no volume. Unfortunately this was outside of Revain's return window so I have a device that I'll probably never get to use.
