I tested it by holding a lighter to this bag and it actually withstood the flame! (See video) After I finished the video I opened it up and it wasn't even hot inside. I was very surprised at how well it withstood the flames. While I can't say exactly how far it lasts, it works great for a small grill lighter. Haha I really like this bag because it has so many different pockets to organize things. I can separate birth certificates, social security cards, important bank records, mortgage records, car documents, etc. For me personally, this is definitely better than those huge plastic boxes that I can hardly lift. They always turn into a huge mess and make us try to find what we need. I was able to reset the lock to our code with no problem, and I even ended up figuring out how to lock the bag (you have to zip it into the lock...yes - I fiddled with that for a long time too). The bag doesn't have much structure, but I find it better if you fill it with papers. It doesn't really bother me - it won't take up that much space.
