On our model, the Miele inlet solenoid valve is not attached to the dishwasher; it is located under the sink and is connected to the dishwasher by a hose. This simplifies access and exchange. The mechanical configuration of this product differs from the original but seems to work just as well. Miele sells their replacement parts for around $130, so you can save a lot of money by using this third-party replacement. There are instructions, including several YouTube videos, showing how to fit 3rd party replacement solenoid valves for a genuine Miele part - search the web for them. I had to buy a $5 adapter at our local hardware store for my setup, and I also recommend Teflon. Adhesive tape to ensure no water leakage at the connection point of this product with the water supply pipe. I was able to reuse the hose that connected to the Meile solenoid. I soldered the wire connectors to the Fridigdare inlet valve electrical wires and then wrapped them in tape (or you can use heat shrink tubing). These plugs are not polarized as AC power is supplied to the solenoid valve. I suspect you might be skipping a soldering iron step if you connect the wires (which originally connected to the Miele inlet valve) to the Frigidaire part with a suitable crimp/fastener that should be available at any hardware or auto parts store. Make sure you disconnect the cable. dishwasher and shut off the water supply before attempting any repairs yourself. The Miele part and this part (when working properly) makes a faint buzz when the solenoid is turned on and water flows through the valve. A slight vibration can be felt when touching the plastic housing. If your Miele dishwasher inlet solenoid isn't vibrating or buzzing and the water level gauge is showing an error, there's a good chance this product can save you money. Our Miele's solenoid failed for the first time last February (now October) and I 'fixed' it (first by removing the plumbing, then) by soaking it in vinegar. it gave me about 7+ months of extra usage. Soaking in vinegar didn't work for me this time, I had to replace the valve. The attached photo shows the original Miele part and its plastic case. Much luck.
