I bought these for a small office for 6 people. We have a range of ceramic tableware that is gradually declining due to breakage. Shells are the most commonly used. The shades of the bowls are really nice and soft. And they're big enough for a big bowl of soup or stew or a salad for lunch. However, I am a little disappointed with their performance in both the microwave and dishwasher. I bought the bowls on January 17, 2020. Less than 2 months later, one of the shells shows microwave damage. In the photos you can see a light orange pubic ring. It's not bad, but I figured we'd get more out of the shells before we got started. I put them in the dishwasher, just on the top shelf, and there was no damage from washing. But they have a fold-down rim on the edge that collects a decent amount of water. When I take everything out of the dishwasher to clean, I either have to turn the bowls over and leave them on the top shelf while I clean everything else, or wipe them down with paper towels (not cloth towels). in the office). Again, not a HUGE deal, but being both "microwave safe" and "dishwasher safe" were big selling points for me. In hindsight I would keep looking for a better set of bowls but will leave it until they need to be replaced.
