Review on House Tenafly Road by Nicole Green

I have the impression that this book was published without editing. Paragraphs move back and forth, which sometimes doesn't make sense. The concept of the story is fine as there aren't many historical novels that deal with drug addiction resulting from trauma during the Civil War, but the narrator keeps getting stuck. The characters don't seem to have any real power, and perhaps the author wanted them to be superficial. It took a long time to come to a conclusion. This story could have been told more effectively if it had only been half as long.
