This is a large openwork necklace that feels solid and well made. The stainless steel pendant looks solid and the gold plating has a rustic antique look. The pendant is about the size of a silver dollar, so it definitely stands out. Up close, the level of detail is high (intimidating detail). I love that the pendant is hung from a chain by two loops in the back to keep it from tipping over - a very valuable feature as I don't know how many times I've worn the necklace. turned the wrong way and didn't even notice it. The chain is great - it's a round braided style with an elegant look and feel (it doesn't tangle and almost flows out of my hands). It looks and feels thick enough to support the pendant's weight. The lobster clasp looks solid and closes securely. I ordered this for part of my Halloween costume where it can be paired with a few other necklaces of different lengths, but I'm sure it's the one that will draw the most attention. I will definitely be using the chain with other pendants, but I have to say that the (pretty terrifying) pendant itself is meant to be worn just one day a year! The current price of $12.99 seems very reasonable for this beautifully designed necklace.
