This is real leather - I wanted that. What I didn't notice when ordering is that the edges are beveled. If I had seen that I would not have ordered. Use their BS-40 product to get the same without the bevel. I had to buy a second one (I lost a little weight, I needed a smaller size). I've gotten so used to the bevel that I don't even notice it anymore. The beveled version is a few bucks cheaper, so my new belt is beveled too. Good product!
