This bag is the right size for me as a work bag. Although I really like it. There are a few more suggestions that I think would make this the perfect bag.1. The bag is slightly wider, maybe 1 inch wide, these may be gusset or accordion pleats. I bring my lunch to work on the train, so I don't want to weigh myself down with a thermal bag. In addition to being able to fit a small bento box, you can also easily add a few small snacks. He needs a pocket (headscarf) in front to put his keys. At the moment I don't have space for my keys because I have a big remote control. I attach this by attaching a small hook or loop to the top of the backpack, either by the cobbler or by me.3. The hole should not be smaller than the base for easy taking out.4. The zip top closure is a nice touch, I have to put the bag through a metal detector so things can fall out as they are placed on the conveyor belt. The back pocket is too small. I can only slip on flat things and nothing else.6. You need a hole for a water bottle on the side or for an umbrella.7. The magnetic closure is very nice, but not secured. I'm back on the train and that also limits its function as a holdall. The straps should be slightly wider (a few inches more) so they don't dig into the shoulders or the jacket.9. It would be nice to have different colors. All in all, this is a very nice carry-on bag. I think this bag is a very good buy. I've been using it every day for over a week now so I can see its pros and cons. The hardware feels solid so far, the logos aren't big or distracting. "Skin" hard, but not hard. The color is dark reddish brown, not glossy or dull. It can be easily removed from my shoulder if I wish (the straps can be lengthened or shortened). It sits flat and hugs my back snugly. I wipe it down with an alcohol pad, then water and dry it immediately every day and so far there is no sign of cracking. I will be buying a leather cleaner soon as I want the bag to last a long time. I'm 5 x 4 inches and it fits my size.
