Review on Enhanced Long Range Reception: McDuory TV Outdoor Yagi Antenna for Attic and Roof Mount - 4K/1080P/HD, Digital OTA Antenna with Exceptional Clarity by Matt Welch

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Questionable build quality Poor reception

This is the fourth Yagi I have installed in several homes over the last few years. I live in the mountains and have this to get multiple OTA feeds in addition to what I get from streaming services. When I moved in the previous owner had left a cheap antenna up in a tree so I bought one to properly mount on the side of the gable to partially block out the snow. about the weather, and since the line of sight across the lake (but also through some trees) to the transmitters is only about 17 miles, do not trust the antenna's range ratings. Reception was solid for the first week, but I lost about half of the sixteen channels over two weeks, and the loss was consistent even when rescanning and rechecking azimuth alignment. Also, the antenna rods that you need to install fit VERY loosely in the plastic bracket and I had three fall out due to the wind. The solution to this problem is to drill out the bottom of the tubes to fit the mounting holes more tightly. However, I am getting a RCA Yagi antenna to replace this. I need reliable reception to see local news, especially the weather forecast.

Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
