I bought this as a gift after open heart surgery as the recipient was couch bound and sitting a lot which was starting to take its toll on the tailbone. It's not the world's most comfortable pillow, but it's strong enough to endure months of sitting and constant use. It relieves the bones and muscles of having to sit in one position all the time and really makes a statement. He loves it and is still using it months later. I recommend it for this purpose. Maybe not like a car cushion or anything. In addition, two overhangs are designed for legs. This is the part that faces the front.
