Review on πŸͺ‘ Stalwart 75 5186 Bench Replacement Part by Terence Dardant

Good cheap table tray

I actually bought three of these sets and they arrived today. All three of mine came with instructions (so this might be an addition after the last reviewer) and each probably took 2-3 minutes to assemble. While the dimensions listed for each of the trays may apply to the top of each basket, I took the measurements from the bottom and they are actually 5.5 inches long, 3 inches wide and 2.75 inches high (although 5 inches between trays lie). levels). Whilst this is only slightly smaller than the stated measurements for the top of the basket, please bear this in mind if you have a specific sized item. I agree that the system is a bit wonky, but it really isn't that much of a problem. Worst case I can always drill holes in the legs and attach them to the countertop or even put non-stick pads on the bottom of the legs and that should solve the problem. One question I had was if the containers could support the weight, so I loaded them with lead weights (well, ammo) on the front of the container. The first thing I tried was taking the empty tray system and putting 57.1 oz (3.6 lbs) in the top/middle hopper for 20 minutes and it didn't tip over or fail (which made me wonder whether this could happen if the containers are held). the trap only with a fairly thin hard plastic lip). I then loaded all of the top baskets for a total of 187.9 ounces (or 11.75 pounds) and not only did they not tip over (the legs are longer than the end of the tray so it's physically impossible on level ground). but decided to check it out as the previous reviewer thought it might be possible) it still seems to be holding up after another 30 minutes (only 50 minutes for a weight test). The legs diverge a little, so maybe loading the rest of the trays with that much weight would make the problem worse. + pounds of stuff in these compartments. Now for the cons: 1) The plastic plugs they use on the legs are incredibly loose. Of the 12 connectors in my 3 sets, 1 was completely missing and 9 others were loose enough to be removed by hand. I'll use glue to hold them in place, but since they're really only cosmetic it's not that big of a deal. 2) Also, one of my kits was missing what is called a "vertical support" that helps keep the center of the tray straight and give it a base. This kit was the same one that was also missing one of the leg plugs and also appears to have been returned. 3) If you need to move this filing system, you MUST remove it from the legs. If you try to lift it by the trays, the legs will fall off (not too much of a problem, but I'll mention it). 4) Not much space to put a label on each container. They have a slot to put a label on each container (0.5" x 2.5" for readable area), but I was hoping I could put a label sticker on the front to identify what each one was container contains. Although my overall impression is quite positive. The price is really cheap for what we get IMO. I wish I had bought some with larger containers instead of buying them, but I can't fault this item. The shells are fairly easy to put on and take off, and from my semi-scientific research, they can obviously support quite a bit of weight.

Pros
  • Home storage and organization
Cons
  • No performance
