What was needed was a shoe that was light and comfortable enough to endure long walks with the dog on paved surfaces, yet provided good traction on unexpected cross-country excursions and performed well on both occasions. Good ventilation so feet don't heat up and don't sweat. Provides good grip on steep grassy slopes. I wear 9.5D and it fits perfectly.
