It doesn't feel cheap at all. The packaging it came in was of Apple quality - someone put a lot of thought into the padlock box. In terms of security, it does its job in a very simple and user-friendly way. Of course, anyone can cut it with a mini bolt cutter, but in terms of containment, it's perfect. The length of the cord is ideal for attaching to a table leg or attachment loop (my library has them built in for study stalls). The cable is flexible enough that you can easily move your computer without touching the cable, but sturdy enough that it doesn't look like you can damage it without tools.
