Good towels, good for a monogram.
Can't tell if it's absorbent or not, I bought it monogrammed and am giving it away. I will say right away, when I first took them out of the box I was concerned about the quality. At first glance they don't look as thick as in the photo. Once I folded them like they were folded in pictures online I feel they are just as beautiful as pictured. I have a feeling they will hook slightly.
