Bought a lap tray for my husband. He had just left the hospital and this tray made it easier for him to sit in his chair and eat. The size was exactly as described. Large enough to hold a regular sized plate and more. One thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is an issue with one of the legs. There is a slot for the crossbar that you can put the legs in. On the one I bought, the little nail in the slot isn't in the crossbar, it's in the piece of wood that holds the legs in place. I put the piece back in and it stays in place as I carefully place the tray on my husband's lap. Even with this small flaw, the tray does what I need.
