This is a very high quality stainless steel drain. This is probably great for any setup; However, I needed a drain of this design to replace an existing drain. The existing drainage oxidized and collapsed. I had no problem cutting for a replacement. However, because the drain is square, the screw type will affect existing tiles when screwing it on. This drain has a separate PVC flange that goes well with the old drain. After a few trial fits to the exact height, the new drain was simply slid right into the flange and hole and secured with a thin washer. This was the only way to repair without removing or replacing the existing tiles.
