Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Speedlite 430EX III-RT Flash by Canon by Chris Horton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly recommended for all Speedlites from beginner to expert

Enough functions for advanced flash photography with multiple Speedlites. New to the 430EX III-RT is an interactive menu that uses the tilt wheel on the back of the Speedlite to make selections. Navigating through menu items on the Canon Speedlite has never been easier. Of course, if you prefer to control the 430EX III-RT from the main LCD of a compatible Canon camera, you can do that too. Just search for "Flash Control" and then for the menu items "External Flash Control". Canon has included a mid-range (400 series) Speedlite that can act as a reference Speedlite. That means, that after learning the basics of using a single Speedlite, your 430EX III-RT can be used with other Canon Speedlites to create an external flash. The 430EX III-RT offers wireless flash at a very affordable price (compared to the top-of-the-line 600EX-RT). It can be used as a radio master (to control up to 14 other Speedlites 430EX III-RT and/or 600EX-RT). Likewise, it can be operated as a slave radio or (like the earlier 400-series Speedlites) as an optical slave. All other Canon EX Speedlites only work in optical wireless mode (where instructions are sent with a code sewn onto the master Speedlite's tube). The radio fits through softbox walls and other opaque surfaces. The optical wireless communication must have a direct path between the camera-mounted master unit and the slave units.] For more information on speedlites and flash photography, see my Speedliter Flash Handbook: Learning to Craft Light with Canon Speedlites (2nd edition) . I have created an online manual for using the 430EX III-RT which you can access using the code included in the book at the end of the table of contents.
