Didn't do that initially but had to move the brackets all the way up and then tighten the screws to allow the weight of the monitor to create enough air/oil pressure inside. My monitor is one of the heaviest on the market so it should support everything else. My desk is against a wall so I had to position both hands to almost 180 degrees, but it works with minimal effort. extra space (as if I bought a pole). USB ports on the stand helped reduce clutter even further. They could offer at least one Type-C port, but that's not a problem as they're primarily designed to charge mice or phones. This stand was over the top for me. I don't expect to move the monitor much. But it allowed me to get rid of the huge footrest that the original monitor had, which was taking up too much space. I have to work a little. continue cable management, but so far so good.
