Great, but probably not for newborns
Mattress topper with very nice padding (but not too much). Washes well and doesn't roll! It adds a little pillow and seems very comfortable to sleep on. However, our little girl started sleeping on it in our room at 5 months old, much later as she rolled back and forth/backwards so I was less worried about SIDS. I would not recommend using this on a newborn.
