Compared to my old 27GL850, this monitor is bigger and faster; with simple (one-click) overclocking to 180 Hz. Of course, the pixel density decreases with increasing size. What stays the same is the excellent picture quality out of the box, which seems to be LG's thing. I had previously tried the MSI MAG274QRF-QD (another highly acclaimed monitor) and initially the image quality was pretty poor, requiring a lot of calibration to remove over-sharpening and over-saturation. Aside from minor backlight backlashes, there aren't any complaints about the panel so far: there are no dead pixels or other obvious imperfections. I hope it stays that way. Many thanks to Tim from Hardware Unboxed for reviewing the 27GP850 (27" version).
