Review on OP/TECH USA Pro Strap - 3/8&#34 by Melissa Marie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The classic model is cheaper and better overall.

Wide shoulder strap suitable for heavy cameras. If your camera isn't that heavy, you should definitely consider the Op Tech Classic, which I use for most of my gear. The difference between OP/TECH Super Classic Strap Pro Loop and OP/TECH USA 1001062 Super Classic Strap - Uni Loop for cameras and binoculars is very simple if you buy both like I did: The Pro Loop has two connectors directly on the sides of the neoprene shoulder (or neck, depending on what you call it) overlay, while the Uni Loop does not. Presumably this is so the pro can use the old strap to remove the Neo shoulder strap and use it with other OP/Tech accessories. The adjustable black nylon side straps and even the neoprene shoulder pad are identical on both models. So you have to decide whether you're willing to pay an extra five dollars (price subject to change over time) for the top two plastic buckles - the ones on each of the neoprene shoulder pads - or never use or need them . I belong to the second group. Note: The Super Pro Loop Strap has everything like the Pro Loop but has a wider neoprene shoulder pad cut in a slight arc or curve to fit around the neck profile. Additionally, the Super Pro Loop Strap is available in neoprene colors (but as any seasoned photographer knows, dirt won't show up in just black). It is not necessary for me to have such a wide cushion even when carrying my 4 lb 4 oz 15 x 56mm binoculars for example; I prefer the classic version's thinner and less curved shoulder pad. Your preferences may vary. I found these straps very confusing even after watching the official op tech videos until I bought one. I hope you can buy the one that serves you best. :-)
