My kids love this swing and I would definitely recommend it. We got this to replace an old monkey swing that hangs from a very high branch in a large tree in our backyard. They love the addition of the climbing platforms. The rope itself is much more substantial than I expected; it gives me a lot of confidence this will hold up to a lot swinging for many years. The disc is made of plastic but feels sturdy enough even for an adult to ride on (which I have of course). The plastic discs on the rope are held in place with guides that keep them from slipping down. They hold the weight of a child climbing up it - at least 100 pounds and probably more. The discs are even sturdy enough that the little kids can balance themselves seated on them - they love to climb to the top and sit on the top disc.We are not using the tree strap and carabiner but I did test the use of them attaching it to monkey bars on a play set and it held up just fine, even when I sat on it at 180 pounds.
