Finally thoughtful case for Lenovo Duet Chromebook

I teach and speak in the US and Mexico. The Duet is a great, inexpensive portable if you don't want to carry around (and risk damaging or losing) my big, heavy, expensive Mac laptop. But the standard back offers minimal protection if I don't want to carry a bag. The rest of the covers were flimsy and didn't fit the keyboard. It's almost perfect. This is a two-piece construction, the two parts of which are magnetically connected. The magnet isn't as strong as the original, but it does the job. Part 1 is suitable for tablets. Like the original back cover, it does not protect the screen. But it offers protection for corners and sides. Also, it is lighter than the original back, making it easier to use in tablet mode. The second part allows it to be used with a keyboard and also folds down to protect the whole thing when closed. Using it on your lap with a keyboard is easier than the original back since it offers a base instead of a back. Opening. The Lenovo keyboard connector has a bit of flex and bend, making it stiff. Sturdy construction, if a bit heavy when carrying the whole thing. The material is very similar to the Lenovo back, but it's plastic, not fabric. This is a plus, since there is less chance of contamination. In general, the image is elegant and businesslike. It also has a stylus storage loop and an external magnetic document pocket. Two minor flaws in the finish: (1) The underside where the keyboard attaches is about 1mm smaller and the keyboard doesn't quite fit flush (see image). This doesn't affect its use in any way, but it was sooo close. . . (2) The screen cutout above is not cut straight to fit the screen itself. Again a cosmetic issue, but still. . . Maybe mine was just an exception. But not enough to deduct a star.

Pros
  • Like everyone else
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
