I have never used soap pads. I have a friend who swears they help the bars last longer. I decided to try them out as my husband uses soap in the shower. So far my friend is right. This allows the bars to drain better into the soap dish with drainage holes. And it seems that the strip lasts longer and does not roll into a puddle when drying. And in the spaces between the bars, it is easy to clean under water in the sink. I will buy more of these in the future. Definitely recommend.
