Review on Mini PC Beelink Mini S 8/256 Gb by Adam Konowski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good and high-quality product, but there are disadvantages.

I took it to replace my old Gigabyte system unit. I liked the 8GB RAM with the ability to finish up to 16GB and a 256GB m2 SSD. I almost did not pay attention to Windows 11 pro in the description. In vain. Alas, the product description and instructions do NOT state that the additional HDD must be of the slim version (ie 7mm). I had only 9.5 mm from Seagate 320GB. He got up normally, but putting the lid back on turned out to be almost impossible. But after launch, at some point after the reboot, when entering the profile, instead of the desktop, only a black screen and a cursor appeared. I had to remove the HDD - everything returned to normal. SSD from Radeon 500GB was installed only with the cover screwed on. Without it, the disk simply would not fit into the slot. No matter how he puffed, he could only put it with a lid. But in the system, the disk is working fine. The audio connector is located in the front, which is extremely inconvenient, since I fastened all the audio cables on the computer desk with the expectation of connecting to the back of the system unit. I have an old Samsung monitor with VGA - I had to buy an adapter. By the way, if you urgently need to cut down the machine through the power button, then you will hardly succeed. When you press the button, it just goes into hibernation and immediately starts. Doesn't even reboot. As for the temperature, according to hwmonitor it keeps around 55-70 degrees. Windows 11 pro. I am a fan of the seven, and before that I sat on Piggy for a long time, and I didn’t even feel the 11th. Only 10k at work poyuzal a little. How tired I was with the long waits for the ate and the incomprehensible shutdown of the monitor when starting the old Gunner2. Only when switching the cable to the second HDMI, the screen turned on again. Yes, old games on hardware run great, no lags, but with surprises like this. I'm a fan of Space Rangers, and they installed without problems, freezes and sudden shutdowns. Online games did not check - I do not care about them. I would write more, but the amount of text here is limited.

Pros
  • Compactness. 4 USB 3.0, 2 HDMI, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth (5.0?). 2 HDMI cables, power supply, mounting on TVs and monitors. Bay for SSD or HDD form factor 2.5. Pre-installed Windows without the need for activation. Noiseless cooler. Multilingual instruction with more or less adequate translation from Chinese. Expandable RAM up to 16GB. Instant detection of receivers and devices. Old games run, Photoshop works, the browser does not slow down. The video also loads fine.
Cons
  • There is no way to install an additional cooling cooler. The thermal pad is too short and easily lags behind the pre-installed m2 SSD. It is not clear in what cases the cooling cooler works. The case is constantly heated, but I would not say that it burns. There is no VGA connector. In the compartment for an additional SSD or HDD, you can put this element only in the Slim version (7mm !). Iron is sharpened under Windows 10 and above. 8ku, 7ku and below does not see. RAM is only single channel. The instructions were translated through Google. The translation is readable, but I really want to take and advise a 2022 textbook. When used, a black screen with a cursor came out, or the monitor turned off when starting an ancient game. Windows 11 pro preinstalled. I had to figure out why there is no sound during playback, although there is sound in the speakers on the test, etc. Another moment - when removing an additional compartment, I saw on the (processor?) Some kind of dirty black nonsense. At first I thought that it was a marriage and that something had broken .
