Review on Sony PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi PCH-2000ZA12 (White) - Japan Import by Joseph Stone

PlayStation Vita is FREE by Region! (Region free = import any game from any country)

To be honest there are a few things that disappoint me about this product. But it's an amazing wearable device, but it needs some improvement. The main reason I chose a PlayStation Vita was because I really wanted to be able to play my PS3 games when I was away from home (e.g. at work or college). I was immediately frustrated with not being able to get my PS3 to connect to my Vita right away. I had to go online to find tutorials. As soon as I finally got it to work, it lost time and slowed down badly. I was able to get started but when I tried to play the PlayStation 3 game (Killzone 3 and Metal Gear Solid IV) I tried both games and after further research on the internet I got the error "This game is not compatible". . I've found that this only appears to be possible with a hacked bio (if you try to hack it there is a 50% chance your device will be locked). So don't try, it's not worth it. Remote playback was really my only problem. This device only has 1 gigabyte (GB) of internal memory. So if you plan to go digital, do yourself a favor and grab a memory card (remember there are no micro SD card adapters, I did some research to see if there were, and unfortunately there are no such things for Vita), that's another $80 out of my pocket that I didn't want to spend. While it's nice to have the extra storage, I find it ridiculous to shell out an extra $80 for a 64GB PS Vita card when I can get a 64GB SD card for around $20 could get. And the last thing about the system, the games are displayed in English. When you start the system for the first time, however, you will need to scroll up when selecting a language. You will be asked what language you want your system to be in when you activate the system. Also, it took me a while to get used to a confusing thing: the (X) and (O) keys are swapped (because it's a system imported from Japan). yes", and (X) no. But this only works in the system menu, the game will still play normally, it just takes time to understand this switching between games of the region.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
