Not a very good portable cassette player. But after a VERY FAILED attempt to purchase one of these devices from retailers near me (compared to this experience) I am very happy with this item. I bought 3 tape recorders from retailers in my town. The quality of these things is TERRIBLE! (Sounds bad. And/or they fall apart within a week. Or don't play at all!) But what's worse, it's almost impossible to find retailers selling these things now. I'm an "old school" guy with a huge collection of cassettes that are over 20 years old, so finding a turntable that's even halfway decent is a real challenge. I think the saying "you get what you pay for" is true. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an expensive "Sony Walkman" (which I assume is excellent quality) but for what I paid for a cheaper COLBY CX49 CASSETTE PLAYER. I feel (so far) it's pretty good quality and suits my needs. It's way better than the crap I bought at retail (if I could find it). Yet again. NOT A GREAT PLAYER. BUT GOOD PLAYER!
