I've been using this on my Cockapoo pup for several months - she was 3 months old and 7lbs when I started using it. I never use shock mode and would have preferred a product without it, but this seemed to be best for a small dog like her. She is incredibly stubborn and not interested in pleasing like my last dog (Golden Retriever). She stopped barking very well which I bought her for. Also good for gait training so it doesn't pull. I don't use it anymore as it connected the commands pretty well and it's not that necessary. The collar was easy to trim and I left it on a little longer knowing she would grow - which she did - she's under 13lbs. It held a charge well and was easy to plug in at night. Overall I am very happy with this product and would recommend it for training.
