Not waterproof, good for children's room

I kept our expensive organic crib mattress in this bag and put it under the guest bed in our basement. We had a pipe leak in the wall which allowed water to seep into the room and soak most of the carpet. Water got into the bag and ruined the mattress. It looked good in use and probably protected the mattress from dust and odors, but not water. I would look for another product or way to store the mattress for your crib if you are concerned about this.
