Not for kittens who like to play rough.

Although this castle was cute and very easy to assemble, unfortunately it couldn't withstand the siege of our 4 month old kittens. Less than a week passed and the castle kept turning, parts of the tower were torn off, and finally the two main parts that were joined to form the body of the castle were torn apart. The scratching post itself is strong enough, as are all those cardboard claw inserts, so it's still long lasting and useful. But for the price of this item, it just doesn't stand up to particularly playful cats. If you have a calmer cat or an older cat that just wants to sit/lie in this thing to end up in a scratch box, then this is for your cat. If you have several wild cats. Well, imagine how well cardboard would hold up to a trebuchet throwing cats at it. in this case they just start by themselves.
