My old toilet mat has seen better days but we figured my 2 year old Russian Blue wouldn't mind if we kept it for a year or two. Things were going great although the carpet was creased and didn't pick up all the junk. We then adopted a stray kitten who refuses to use the litter box if it doesn't meet her standards. Unfortunately, their standards are constantly changing, and I quickly had a warped, scratched, and much-loved rug. So far this has been exactly what I needed. It goes with my litter box and her litter gin. The "craters" contain almost all of the debris left on my cat's paws after they leave their box. Plus, the durable rubber keeps my cats from deforming the mat and leaving scratch marks, intentionally or unintentionally. The rug is big enough to fit their entire box on and there is almost 12 inches of extra space in front of the box for them to walk on. So far the kitty hasn't been tempted to use the mat instead of the box, which is a big plus! I would definitely buy this mat again and highly recommend it to all cat owners.
