Review on πŸ“· TheiaPro Eyeglasses Camera (Black) with App Connectivity for Enhanced Capability in Recording by Corey Listner

Good concept but very bad execution.

Great intentions, bad execution. let me explain. The idea is to have a portable camera that can be adapted to different shots at a reasonable price. Therefore, this HD camera comes with a cable to connect to a computer's USB port for charging (no wall adapter) and a screwdriver to attach the camera to another glass frame. They even added a default left branch in case you want to use these points for other purposes :) Unfortunately, although the concept is very good, the implementation lagged behind in many respects. Let me start with the three most obvious issues I've noticed: - This camera should have been designed as a clip-on camera as the stem is not compatible with any of my standard glasses, viewing glasses or sunglasses. So to use it I either have to suffer from the sun as it's not sunglasses and I can't use it in my prescription glasses. Pretty much every shot I took was blurry due to my head moving. .- The buttons are of poor quality, so you have to fiddle with them to react. Expanding on this a bit, the manual says you have to quickly press the button twice to take a photo, but that never worked for me. The sensitive feedback is very poor so I end up clicking like crazy to get some sort of response. A workaround is to use an app to control the glasses and then the camera will respond. This also helps you understand what exactly you're capturing as an image, but this approach also has many downsides: - It uses Wi-Fi to work, so forget about standard Wi-Fi. You have to look at your screen to figure out where the button to take a picture is, and then you're not looking at what you were trying to capture. This is normal for video as it only lasts a second, but it's enough to ruin a nice picture. Because of this, I don't use this camera very often, except when I'm indoors and wearing contacts. That may be true enough when I'm making my video games. I'll try that tonight, but that's all I can think of at the moment. other observations: - Commands are confusing. The same button has multiple functions depending on how you press it. After a few minutes, your hand will warm up a bit.

Pros

Cons
  • Almost never
