I had another Timbuk2 backpack before I bought this one and with this other one I kept losing my wallet in it, because the outer pocket was so deep. This would have caused many panic attacks at the airport trying to find my wallet. I like the 4 outer pockets of this backpack. Then so much fits in. I carry my photo gear and DSLR in it. There is no lining on the bottom but that doesn't bother me. All my things are in my own pockets. I put all my non-essential items below and let them act as an add-on to my DSLR. The backpack doesn't really deviate from my back. It's so comfortable to wear. The side pocket for a water bottle is small. It fits in my 24 ounce water bottle.
