AWESOME SOFTBOX. Save money without sacrificing quality!

I paid a fortune for a well known branded soft box of this size. I needed the second for those rare moments when I wanted that "wild" flare that occurs when two of them are used as the main light source. It's not often that I want this look, so the few times I didn't feel like spending a lot of money on a softbox with a second stripe. I came here to Amazon and found this. I had no illusions that this box would be any worse than its more expensive partner, but I was wrong. EVERY PIECE IS SO GOOD - durable material that doesn't seem to tear easily, inner diffusion plate, outer diffusion plate, and it comes with an egg crate grid to guide direction (my brand doesn't have a mesh). The kit comes with a speedring which doesn't fit my Hensel monoblocs but that's fine because I have other speedrings that I can use and they fit the softbox just fine. Some people remark that it is difficult to assemble. I have never seen a softbox that is easy to assemble and I have never seen a softbox that comes with instructions. Softbox sellers will assume you know how to assemble them, but if you don't, check out the YouTube video. How difficult it is to connect them depends a lot on how strong you are. I'm not that strong, I usually have a helper to help me put the softboxes together AND I use oven mitts to help with strength and grip. My potholders have a non-slip surface. If not, ignore the potholder offer. I rarely disassemble softboxes. I only do this when I have to travel with them. If you have to take apart and reassemble frequently, ANY softbox can get you frustrated. This is a great softbox that costs a lot less than its famous twins. You may need to purchase a speed ring to work with your specific lights if these Bowen mounts don't work for you. I will definitely buy this brand again if I need a different softbox.
