Review on πŸ”’ Impact Super Clamp with T-Handle: Secure and Versatile Mounting Solution by Joe Patterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Equivalent to Manfrotto 635 Quick Action Super Clamp, much better price

I recommend the T-Handle Impact Super Clamp ($26 inc shipping) and I'll compare them to others I also own and use: Manfrotto 635 Quick Action Super Clamp ($38 including shipping) and Manfrotto 035RL Super Clamp with standard 2908 bolt ($36 including shipping). 035 is a "traditional" chalkboard clip with a long ratcheting handle. All 3 hold 33 pounds (15kg abroad) and are about the same size and weight except for the handles. I like and need a short T-handle for working near C-racks where it's important that the long ratcheting handles don't snag on clothing, cables, etc. and cause safety issues or damage equipment. Impact and Manfrotto's short handles are rounded and difficult to grip. The Impact grip is slightly shorter and smaller than the Manfrotto, but not so much that it's harder (for me) to tighten. I'm guessing Impact is made in China, with all that entails. But the quality of Impact and this item in particular seems to be acceptable. I tested it with my own weight and it didn't disappoint. important difference. this is the price. The extra $2 in the Manfrotto family is probably acceptable for a 'new and improved' product. The $12 (68%) difference from the Impact is unacceptable to me. What really irritates me is that the euro has fallen from $1.30 to $1.10, that's 85%, so Manfrotto's price should be closer to $32 or a little below. In any case, The Impact is good quality, about the same specs and much better price, so I'd heartily recommend it over the overpriced Manfrotto equivalent for this single product.
