1.25 a little thicker than the 15 year old 1 inch thick tool I'm replacing but if its quality is that good I'll be happy. My 1 inch has always been smooth, heats up quickly and never catches on hair. One side just burned out after 15-16 years of almost daily use. The new one is a little voluminous, but the hair glides smoothly over it. A little tiny but I've used it for bangs and it's ok. Will probably never use a curling iron.
