Review on πŸ‘— Sittingley First Communion Dresses - Flower Girls Lace Tulle Gowns by Amy Mcleod

It's so bad it's funny, but it can be saved if you have the time and know how to sew.

I knew it wouldn't be perfect for the price but I didn't expect it to be ridiculous! I've attached some photos to give you a better idea of what I found. I put the dark fabric behind the lace to contrast with the white. To be clear, the dress we bought was all white. Black Dot Background Image: This is the original overall image of the dress. From this point of view it looks decent enough. The bodice of the dress features a layer of lace appliques sewn over soft lace tulle. Under the lace is a white lining with the smallest cutout in the shape of a heart (almost a straight line). The bottom half of the dress consists of a top layer of tulle with lace appliques, 3 layers of plain tulle, white lining, another layer of thick/rigid tulle or mesh, and another layer of white lining. It is full but not very heavy without the use of a crinoline or petticoat with rings. Green Background: These photos show the front and back of the dress. In the large picture on the right you can see that the dress creases at the neck and not near her chest (I know it's on a hanger in the picture but it's exactly the same on her). The photo above left shows the back neckline. Scallops on lace are a cut and patch job and don't go well together. Flower appliques are also in more than one place, which looks ridiculous. The image below left shows the entire appliquΓ© on the front with the scallops on top. The laces look weird together and I find it odd that all the sequins suddenly stop and the wrong piece of lace is put over it. This means the top of the dress is thick. They have a real dress, a big lace applique and then a scallop applique. Pink Background: Figure 1 shows these random orange-reddish spots on the lower tip. Pic 2 shows this random spot where the lace overlaps and they didn't even try to mix, hide or match it. Photo 3 shows the lace at the bottom of the dress where the applique is cut to intersect part of the lace and not lay flat. Purple Background: This is the most ridiculous and fun part of this dress. . Photos 1-3 front/side of dress, 4-5 back. All the lace appliques look like they were cut by my 7 year old! Haha! All 5 applications do not match at all. 3 front faces in different directions, and the backs are completely different from the front. The picture with the red border is an enlarged view of the backrest (numbers 4 and 5). It's literally 3 different pieces of lace hastily sewn together. It's funny how awful it looks. The reason I gave this dress 2 stars instead of 1 is because the actual dress has a decent structure and I could save it myself just because I have average sewing skills. If I couldn't sew I would send it back in a heartbeat! However, due to the price and the fact that I don't have to pay anyone to fix it, I'm keeping it to myself. My 5 year old daughter will be fine wearing it once as a flower girl to her wedding in November 2018. It's not very high quality, but strong enough for one-time use. It will look great in photos and it won't hurt me so much when she inevitably destroys because she's 5 years old and that's what 5 year olds do! Bonus: Ironically, due to the poorly sewn on lace appliques, the lace appliques are easily removed without damaging the actual dress.
