Not a gamer yet. I bought this laptop to replace a 9 year old HP after much research. There were only three negative points that really bothered me: 1. The fans were too loud. My fans rarely start kicking, and if they do, it's only for a few minutes. Even at full speed, which can be turned on and off manually with a switch on the keyboard, I wouldn't rate it as remotely loud. I have since added a cooling pad so it can sit as I use it on my lap most of the time and the air intakes are at the bottom and blocked by the clothes I was wearing. Now the fans almost do not turn on.2. The screen had bright reflections along the bottom bezel. Doesn't exist on my machine. 144Hz screen in awesome.3. Short battery life. Yes, I didn't have that with my extended battery on my old HP. On average I work around 2-3 hours which is normal as I work over the network most of the time. If I'm just running on battery, disabling the cooling pad gives a little more runtime. Now to the innards of the machine: I mentioned that I'm not a gamer, but I use a lot of graphics-intensive applications, such as demanding astronomy and graphics processing software. The 6-core processor and RTX2060 handle it with absolute finesse and without any problems. Animations and videos are smooth and precise. The color rendering is first class. The thin-bezel 17-inch screen is great and houses a camera. This machine has so many features and settings. You can customize it to do almost anything you want. He processes everything I throw at him without missing a beat. or change the specifications you need depending on the applications you use. You can set it to use the standard {not shoddy} Intel UHD integrated graphics or whatever RTX card you'll ever need to save more battery life and keep the fans down. The keyboard is great and has multiple levels of brightness. Each key can be individually set to any color or dimmed, which comes in handy when launching apps that require certain hotkeys to be repeated. The backlight is very nice and the keys are easy to read and feel comfortable. SteelSeries setup software is easy to use and also integrates with the Steel Series mouse I bought. All functions and settings are easily made using the keyboard and the included Dragon Center and SteelSeries software. Both the Intel UHD graphics and the Nvidia RTX graphics have their own individual control panels, so you can customize one or both to suit your computing preferences. The audio system is excellent (4 speakers) for editing and listening to sound. The only thing I wish the speakers were installed face up. The left and right speakers are housed in separate isolated enclosures for highly detailed and reliable sound. You can really customize it with the included audio setup utility. I moved the 500GB WD-750 card to the second slot and added another 500GB WD-850 Black card as a boot drive. Both NVME cards have a cooler attached {by Revain}. I installed a 2 TB WD Blue SSD in the 2.5" bay to store data and programs. This gives me a total of 3 TB of internal solid state storage. I also ordered a transparent silicone keyboard cover (Revain), to protect keys from dishes and dust - Fits like a glove and doesn't affect typing feel or feedback While gamers probably rarely need more than 16GB of connected memory {Most game processing is done by the Nvidia card}, many of my apps are memory intensive , so I increased storage up to 64GB {again. The price was spot on from Revain. Verdict: The build quality is excellent. The keyboard is well thought out and reliable. Typing is almost silent. The styling is excellent - not forward, but not just Jane Features and performance are hard to find at this price point Expansion options (two NVME slots AND 2.5-in l bay) are second to none at this price. The customization possibilities are endless (look for videos on YT). The device is smaller than my previous laptop. It is smaller in all dimensions and half the height. The weight is good too. I would buy it again. in a moment. Highly recommended! Get it and enjoy!
