I'm 5'7" and usually wear XL. This kaftan hits my ankles. It's very light, but you can't see through it. I wear it around the house. I'm not worried about answering the door or having company in this kaftan. The sleeve opening is wide enough for my hands. Sleeve opening is 18 inches around. There is plenty of room around the chest and hips. Some kaftans you might not be able to make at home, so much stuff, but as said, this one is a dress or cover-up.
