I didn't buy them because of my arthritis. I bought them for a different reason. These are good quality gloves. Not sure if they need to be snug when worn due to arthritis but I have very small hands. I originally bought these gloves in a small size and they were so tight it felt like my fingertips were turning white and I could barely move his fingers or hands in them. Then I reordered for a medium size. They fit a lot better. So it would be unfair of me to say go up a size if you want them to be very tight, but I would recommend it.
