We needed a new mattress topper for our king bed as the mattress has a 10 year guarantee as long as it is stain free. Even a spilled cup of coffee can void your warranty, so I'm very vigilant about these things. The terry cloth makes the bed a bit warmer, but it's also a good way to soften the wrinkled feel of the waterproof material). It fits easily on our very deep mattress, however the impregnation is only on the top of the mattress, not on the sides.
