Updated 6/29/21 below. I'll start by saying I originally wanted to rebuild/upgrade my old 2nd gen i7 build to be more modern. After extensive research/purchase, I realized that I was better off going with a pre-built system as it would cost me more than just the motherboard, CPU, memory and a decent graphics card (if you can find one) than for a brand new system. An added benefit would be that it would be ready to use out of the box. I've been looking at an HP Omen i7/RTX2060 but am not a huge fan of OEM systems due to the use of proprietary parts. After checking all the big name boutique manufacturers (nzxt, cyber power, ibuypower and a few others) I came across Skytech. The specs seemed good and with the rtx2070 no other system came close to the price. The only downside was that it used an older processor, but I could upgrade it fairly cheaply if I felt the need. Systems since rtx2070 alone cost $800-$900. Not only did they give me the rtx2070 as listed, the motherboard and ram were better than what they listed. They could have delayed sending the device to me or saved money, but they didn't. It's been working for me for a few days with no problems. I just had to do a few Windows and Nvidia driver updates. It was packaged very well and nothing was lost in transit. Loud and Proud: I have a few problems to solve. I'm not a fan of cable management. Don't get me wrong, it's intact on the motherboard side, but while the other side of the case is completely separate, it's a bit crammed there. So much so that it takes little effort to close it. I also wish the lighting and fan controls were more user-friendly. I figured out the lighting in the BIOS, but I need to remount the fans to control them. All chassis fans are currently running at full speed at all times. I don't really care but they are quite loud and it would be nice to profile them along a curve. Result. Would I buy from them again and recommend them to a friend? Yes! They were as good or better than the list in almost every category. They delivered on time and did it all for a lot less ($400) for the entire system than I could have assembled it myself. This assumes I can find all the parts in stock. I've built and serviced many rigs over the years so I don't expect to have to contact tech support unless a warranty part fails. However, it's nice to know that this option is there when I need it. Fallout New Vegas and Dead by Daylight run great on ultra settings with all the bells and whistles on. So far no stuttering, tearing or crashes. I'll update with benchmarks and such in a few months once I've hacked it up a bit and got some new games working. Update 6/29/21: A few months later it still works. I added a 240mm AIO liquid CPU cooler and upgraded the fans (low profile Noctua) for better noise control. A little cramped but works well to balance cooling and noise. It runs very well in Control @ 1440p at maximum settings with mid-range ray tracing and dlss enabled, with no noticeable lag or stuttering. Looks great. I will probably upgrade the processor to R5 3600 soon to get a little more performance.
