Two mounting holes only 12" apart so both are snug screws from the wall frame. The hardware included in the box is small for the weight of an ironing board, steam iron, and starch bottle - two very small screws (maybe #6 x 1 inch?) and hollow plastic wall anchors. I mounted a 14" square of 3/4" plywood to the stud with two 2 1/2" screws and then attached the holder to the plywood. The metal that makes up the holder is pretty thin. Our ironing board has legs as shown in the picture - they are angled in a V-shape and the weight of the board when hanging pushes the two hooks left and right outward so the board hangs lower than shown in the picture. After all, our Rowenta iron is not firmly seated in the holder. The end of the iron handle rests against a round-bottomed notch in the bracket, so there is no secure feeling. We use it. Nothing will fall off the wall, but be aware.
