This is the second Laura Ashley quilt I've had in the last three years. The first looked just like this one, only it was a soft beige on a cream background. I've washed it twice and it shrinks a little each time. Still very pretty but barely covered the top of the mattress behind the pillowcases and could still tuck in the bottom. We have a platform bed (a mattress) that sits on the wooden slats, allowing the mattress to fall about two inches into the side rails. The first blanket still covered all the wood paneling on both sides. I'm sure this new blanket will shrink in the wash too, but not so much that I throw it away. It looks great and I've added a long, large pillow to put in front of the cushions and a smaller pillow. I found that I had to buy new very thick and thick pads to put in the pads to keep them looking their best. My old pillows were too thin and didn't justify the claim. I'm just saying.
