Review on MSI Optix G273QPF Anti Glare 165Hz Monitor with 2560X1440P Resolution, Adaptive Sync, and Tilt Adjustment by Andrew Damain

Dead pixels, twice in my head

Upon powering up, the monitor found it came out of the box with two dead pixels, and unfortunately one of those was the dead center of the screen. It's unfortunate because otherwise it seems like a great screen for the price, but reading other reviews it seems like this monitor with a dead pixel or two is pretty common. EDIT: Since I liked the monitor so much I decided to buy another one after returning the one with dead pixels hoping to get a good display this time. Unfortunately, a dead pixel reappeared on the monitor, this time on the left side of the screen. Don't think you can get another monitor with the same specs for this price, but it looks like you're rolling the dice depending on whether the screen has dead pixels.

Pros
  • The 1ms response time helps avoid screen tearing and choppy frame rates
Cons
  • The monitor only works in black and white mode.
