I also bought this to replace one of those units years ago and I will be returning the unit for two reasons. If it helps, I use it to buzz my head once or twice a week. First, it's LOUD! Yes, everyone else who mentions its loudness is correct. It's really so loud that it's uncomfortable to use. I woke my wife up with it the other day. Second, I just don't think it's a skinny cut and the head seems small so you need to do more passes. The one I had many years ago gave me one of the most accurate haircuts around and this one doesn't come close. Now I'm going to start looking for a battery-powered head trimmer again.
