I skipped this cover at first due to bad reviews but then realized that most of the products were bad Have reviews and decided to take a chance. The case looks good and feels like a quality product. I chose blue, which shimmers a bit through the reflective surface. Fits well on my board, easy to assemble. I've used it twice since buying it and it's a definite improvement over my old cover. I've never lit a cover, and I probably never will have a problem with this one. I can only assume that other reviewers iron differently than I do. I mostly iron shirts for myself and my family. It seems that clothes these days contain some synthetics, and even cotton shirts contain a small amount of lycra. That's why I don't use the iron on the hottest settings. I am sure I would burn the shirt before this coating saw any damage. The cover makes ironing easier. The non-slip surface helps keep clothes in place. Resists splashes and stains. At this price I would buy a new one before attempting to clean this one.
