It's a good idea but I suggest actually screwing on the panel that's attached to the wall and doing something to screw the other panel that's on attached to the extension (or whatever - whatever you are trying to mount). The sticky pads feel very sticky and I had no doubts at first that they would hold, but they only lasted about a week before the strip fell off the wall. If possible I suggest using something like a quick drying epoxy to attach the plate to the back of the item being mounted if you are looking for a more permanent solution.
