ATTENTION! THIS IS NOT 95 FEET LONG. The description says 95 feet (29 m) long. Apparently someone left out the decimal and then converted the wrong length to meters. It is 9.5 feet (114 inches, 2.9 meters) long. When I tested it out of the box, the unit retracted with more force than I would have liked, but other than that it was fine and worked as I expected. I was planning to return it for a longer period of time. Edit: I chose not to bring this back because I've spoken to a few other retractable sling users and they all agreed that 10ft works well for them in our applications (stair work). So I attached it to my Exofit harness and tried it out. I have previously used a different retractable webbing as well as retractable cords. Two things bothered me the most: 1. The brake that blocks the device gets stuck because I was spinning too fast or going down - the other retractor strap had this problem and it's quite frustrating. It can even throw you off balance and actually cause a fall instead of preventing it. The Talon never did this and the roll-up spring height seemed close to perfect in actual use. My initial thought that it was too tight out of the box turned out to be unfounded. I never felt it pull me and it never got tied up creating unwanted sagging or requiring removal. I think it's because of the 1 inch sling. A large sling can collapse and when pulled in it will get stuck. luckily NO PROBLEM on the talon. 2. The retractor is strapped to your back. When your fall protection is out of sight and out of reach, it needs to be fairly secure and extremely reliable. I was also concerned about the weight of the box hanging on my back - would it hit my shoulders or spine every time I leaned or changed position? this, and I climbed up the scaffolding on the ladder. Simple and easy to use, the locking pin releases the ring on your harness for positioning or temporary attachment. In general I was very satisfied with the work. I'm a former climber and my expectations for the gear are pretty high. . The OSHA-compliant Fall Pro tends to be overly bulky and brick-heavy, but this little device impressed me and made me happy with my purchase. I'll get back to you soon and add some photos.
