My 14 year old black Lab struggled with hip pain and stayed up all night. In search of a comfortable place to sleep, he always "nested" in his two beds. I bought this bed to replace the bed in our living room to replace his current smaller bed so he has more room to stretch and for the orthopedic foam. It was a hit and he stays in this bed much longer than his old one and gets up much easier and more stable. He also sleeps through the night now. I don't hear him pacing, room to room, or asking to go anywhere. I have a much more expensive bed in my house that he has refused to sleep in for a few years. So I know he's ready to sleep in his new bed, not just because it's there, but because it's comfortable for his old, aching bones. He's still figuring out the logistics of his newly acquired property (he likes to rest his head on cushions), but he's stretching and enjoying it more every day. looks easy to clean and durable compared to other beds I've had.
